This is a card I made for Sketch Challenge #209 on SCS. I remembered I had this adorable dachshund stamp by Cowtown in my binder, and thought a treadmill-exercise type of stamp is quite appropriate to ring in the new year.
I think this card is all about perseverance. I was about ready to give up on it, but I trudged on and on. I couldn't get it right, even when the layout was given to me. I struggled with colors and layering. I really need to become more comfortable with colors, color combinations and layering during this year. I've worked so hard on coloring, yet continue to struggle with design. I'm going to start studying very closely those I admire when it comes to layout and design and just try to learn. Hopefully, at this time in 2010, it won't be such an issue with me. I mean this card was every color under the sun before I arrived at this combination. I just don't know. I want the "Eye of a Designer".
But anyway, the main image is the dachshund on the treadmill and it is from Cowtown stamps. I added the bone from Stampendous and drew the string around it. I wanted a catchy sentiment and came up with a spoof on the Eye of the Tiger, a popular workout tune. This was computer generated. Patterned paper, colored cardstock, brads, ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder, and dog paw punch were also used, along with my beloved Copics on Neenah Solar Crest cardstock. I stamped the images with Marvy Dye black ink. Paper piercing was done around the panels.
Now, if I'm to achieve another one of my resolutions, I'd better go down in the basement and hop on the treadmill myself.

This is too, too cute! That's how I feel on the treadmill, too. Bah! I just love the paper piercing on this card. I always forget about doing that. Your coloring is wonderful as always. I love your colors.
