I made this ATC card of Sloopy for a ATC Pet swap on SCS. I'm in love with it. The background is actually a closeup picture of Sloopy's beautiful red fur. The collar is a red ribbon. I went to Michael's and bought some beading supplies/chain, so I could hang Sloopy's tag from the collar. The collar is traced from Sloopy's actual dog license tag. Her name is stamped with alphabet letters from Impression Obsession. On the back of the tag, it reads "Loved by Kecia" ...that's me. On the back of the ATC, it gives a the address for Sloopy's dogster website. Too cool.

Warm Hello Penny Black
This is another card I made for a swap...this one being a Penny Black swap over on SCS.
Little did I know, that this dog right now represents my life. I find myself babysitting a not-potty trained 5 month old dachshund for a friend, along with Sloopy. So this mischievious little Penny Black dog represents what I'm experiencing in my real life...times 2! I don't think next Monday at 6:00 can get here quick enough.
Anyway, I'm pleased with this card, though I did bend the rules and not use any embellishments. I just didn't feel it needed any. I find that holds true with many larger images. The stamp is from Penny Black and it is called "Naughty or Nice?" and on the actual wood-mounted stamp, the colors are with red and green. I wanted to make this a winter type card, not a holiday card. I think I pulled it off by just using shades of blue.
Stamped on Sterling Matte Coat from Arvey's, using Marvy Dye ink. Colored with Copics. The sentiment is from an acrylic set from Hero Arts. White Pen-Touch pen used for the dots along the blue.

A Request
In order for me to maintain my sanity, I'd like to make a request. PLEASE, let us have some snow days on Tuesdays. I hate Tuesdays now because I'm in this awful class from 4:30 - 7:48 each and every Tuesday for the next 7 weeks. The only possible escape is for school to be cancelled.
This card, entitled, Snow Shower, is exactly what we need overnight Monday into Tuesday.
This is a card I made for a Whipper Snapper swap over on SCS. You know the drill by now...Geogia Pacific Cardstock with Copic Markers.

Orange Tulips
My guess is that this card will end up being a birthday card for my Mom next month.
This card was my take on last week's Inspiration Challenge #109 on SCS. Sadly, it took me a whole week before I could find the time or energy to stamp. Guess that's the reality of being back to work.
Anyway, the details you can probably guess...the image is from Northwoods and is stamped in Marvy Dye black on Sterling Matte from Arvey's. Colored with Copic markers. The background is my first attempt at Faux Wood. I took a green sheet of textured paper from Hollo's and smeared/swiped ColorBox Frost White and ColorBox Antique Pewter to make it appear woodlike. I drew the two lines and added some hardware.
I do like it, I think.

Stampotique Fleur
This is a card I made for the Ways To Use It Challenge #147 on SCS. The challenge was to use flowers. I used this image. It is one of many of my neglected flower images. The image is from Stampotique....oh, how I wish I was there. I bought it a couple of years ago when I was in Arizona for the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame game. Stampotique is quite a store.
Anyway, the details...stamped with black Stazon on Bristol vellum and colored with Prismacolor pencils.
I guess, since I've mentioned Stampotique and Creative Pals in my last two posts...I must be itching to do some traveling.
And no...I'm not going to Monday's game. As painful as that is to admit.

Purple Koala
This little koala is just the cutest, I think. He is an image from Whipper Snapper that I picked up in April when I was visiting Creative Pals in Wisconsin. Oh, how I long to go back there.
Anyway, this is my creation, based upon a Sketch Challenge #157 on SCS. This time, my Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils decided to work together and not beg for my individual attention. Stamped with Marvy Dye black ink on Georgia Pacific cardstock.

Split Negative Reptile
What an unusual card to begin the new year.
This was my attempt at what is called Split Negative/Split Image technique. It was for a Technique Lovers Challenge, #149 on SCS. I struggled with this one. Harder than it looks, and given the end product, I think I'll just chalk it up as a project to learn from.
Hopefully, 2008 will bring me some better cards than this.
