Not really my style, but deviating a bit from my "cute" style won't hurt me one bit. This is my take on the Inspiration Challenge#60 on SCS. Very blue, I know, but then so is the inspiration. The blue was brayered on some glossy paper. The blue is a Waterfall Big and Juicy Pad. The bigger flowers where stamped three times...using the Fiesta Flower by Hero Arts in Stazon black. Then I painted over the Stazon with hot cinnamon and ginger peach Twinkling H2Os. The other flower/thinking of you stamp is a $1 stamp by Michaels. Though I have many of the $1 stamps, I think this is the first one I've put to use. The red rusty paper is stamped with Distress walnut ink using the Just For Fun texture cube.
Everything else, I'm thinking is pretty self explanatory. I intend to send this off to a friend of mine who recently had surgery. Those of you who read this, are the first to see this, seeing as how there are no uploads on Sundays over at SCS. You lucky people, you. LOL! All two of you!
Thanks for looking.

My Kind Of Swap
So how long have I been waiting for this kind of swap? Forever!
A swap is being hosted on SCS. How fun that it is a swap for Buckeyes. The requirements are that you must incorporate the colors of scarlet and gray into a card. Not a problem for me at all.
So, because I joined the swap rather late, I had to make some quickies. Here's what I came up with....
Did such a theme make me feel better?
No.
Still not in a very good Buckeye mood.

Another Sketch Card
This is my interpretation of sketch #107 at SCS. I know it is a little busy, but it was rather fun. Lots of different media used, including oil pastels which I really hope to get better control over. I just love these little Bugawump bugs. I'm thinking that the inside sentiment can be "I See Fireworks When I'm With You", and it can be a very nontraditional Valentine's Day card.
Thanks for looking. Feels good to be able to spend some time creating.

Sloopy is Here
Just a post to officially announce the arrival of Sloopy. We picked her up last Friday night in Lexington. She's a main reason that I haven't had much blog time lately. I plan on making more posts about Sloopy on the other blog (see sidebar), because I don't really want this to become a Sloopy blog. She's a cutie, but at 12 weeks, she's a handful too. Right now, we wonder who is training who.

Time To Create
It feels good to be back in my "Stamp Pen" again. I bought this stamp at Stampotique when I was in Arizona last week. I love their images!
They have a line of "flower people" and I've always wanted the paint girl. So, I, of course, bought it, and was able to ink it up imediately for a challenge on SCS.
I must confess a frustration. I still struggle a great deal with layouts. What happens is, I'll start with an image, frame it...and then I'm stuck. I don't know how to embellish and create interesting layouts. Anyone want to share their secrets with me. Am I the only stamper out there that is layout challenged? I think what happened with this one is that it was such a big main image to begin with.. that there wasn't much room.
Oh well, the more I create, the more at ease I'll be. At least that's my hope.
I plan on giving this card as a thank you to someone in my Stamp Club. She likes to watercolor and I received her basket of goodies at the Christmas exchange last month.

Ouch!
Well it has been a week from tonight since the Desert Disaster. I'm still scratching my head, wondering what the hell happened. It certainly wasn't the team that I followed during the 2006 season. Did not look like the number one team in the nation. Congratulation to the Florida Gators, they definitely wanted it more.
I really am sick over this game. Disgusted.
I thought posting a picture of a cactus was approriate, because "Ouch!". This game hurt something fierce, and the future isn't looking too bright. I hope that *if * we ever get back to the championship game again we'll be competitive so that we can begin to erase this ugly memory burn from our minds. Ugh. But, I have a feeling that this one is going to stay with us a long, long time. Kinda like MSU '98. What woulda, coulda, shoulda been.
So, if you really want to see pictures from the game, visit my Flickr gallery.
We were able to make somewhat of a vacation of the experience. Visited FIVE stamping stores, which was great. So, of course, I had to buy lots of stamps.
We went to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon for the day after the game, just to get away. So beautiful. And, spent some time in Tempe, which will always be near and dear to our hearts. Sigh.
