Magic Pull Up Card

Magic Pull Up Card

What was I thinking?

Well, I was so excited to sign up for a Stamps by Judith swap, because I just adore her images. And, then in my mind, I thought I could somewhat CASE a card that I had seen in a stamp shop in central Wisconsin....I mean I had photos of it, and well, it couldn't be that hard to do, right?!?

Hours and hours later, here are the results of my labor and persistance, and perhaps stubborness.

Here are some directions I find online for anyone wanting to try this type of movable card:

1000th Photo Uploaded

My Dad

Sweet Miss Daisy (who is a stamping celebrity and I'm just way excited to know she visited this little ole blog of mine) said she wanted to see a photo of my most prized possession....well, that kinda threw me for a loop. I wondered, can you claim a person as a possession?

The more I thought about it, I knew that "yes", I could claim a relationship as my most treasured possession...and that would be my relationship with my dad. He is my best friend, and has been for years. He'd do absolutely anything for me. I have very few pictures of him. This one was taken at Niagara Falls on our way to Boston back in 2002. He was driving me to Boston for my job. From Ohio. Yeah, he's that kind of Dad.

Thanks to Heather for the suggestion of a series of my favorites. I'm going to do that within the next week....kinda a fun thing to think about and a fun little photo project to plan.

Thanks to Heather and Anna for participating.

1000th Photo-You Name It!

So, I have uploaded 999 photos onto my Flickr Gallery. Wow! Can't believe I've taken that many pictures. I guess that's the beauty of digital.

So anyway, I was thinking that if anyone actually reads this blog, I would like to extend an invitation to make the next request for the 1000th photo. What would you like to see? (keep it clean!) Would you like to see my current stamping mess? The front of my refrigerator? A picture of my ear? The laundry on my floor? Me? M? Sloopy? My office?

You name it (by posting a comment to this post), and I will post the 1000th photo in honor of your request (again, within reason).

Hurry! I have other photos to upload (more from the ice storm).

This is one of eleven ATCs that I made for a swap on SCS. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and used Stargazer's Watercolor palette to highlight the moon with some sparkle. Card is lightly edged with purple chalk.

At the moment, I have signed up for three more swaps over at SCS. I enjoy them very much and love to see what talented stampers create.

This is just a quick Valentine for M. I tried to get Sloopy to sign it with her paw, but that just didn't work. Oh well, it is the thought that counts. Puppies in a basket stamp from Art Gone Wild. Colored using the MCPT.

The day after a winter storm is the best day to go out and take pictures. I could really only get out in my front yard because of the ice, but I still enjoyed myself for the 10 minutes I could tolerate in the cold. Check out my Flickr gallery for my photographs of the winter storm.

Amazing....THE Ohio State University closed for 1 1/2 days. Historical.

The cutting on this card took what seemed hours, but I like the end result. This card is based upon the Inspiration Challenge #62 on SCS. Yet, another Valentine completed, just not enough loves in my life. LOL.

The chick stamp is from Stampendous, and I found this clear stamp along with others in a clearance bin at a stamp store in Arizona. I'm really liking the clear stamps. I'm glad I found the courage to cross over, but I won't be giving up wood-mounted. I say, the more, the merrier!

This is my interpretation of Sketch 110 on SCS. Can you believe it...it is only February 8 and I believe I have all of my Valentine cards made. I'm never this ahead of the game.

I'm liking the main image on this card, which I purchased from Stampotique when I was in Phoenix last month. I colored the heart with Prismacolor pencils. Hey, I'm getting better with just one color!

Virtual Stamp Night

VSN Feb07 Challenge~Inspiration
Originally uploaded by Buckeye.
I had so much fun Friday night participating in SCS Virtual Stamp Night. VSN consists of various stamping challenges in which you have 45 minutes to complete. Though there were 18 total challenges over the course of two days, I only finished two because of a very jammed pack weekend of previous committments. I thought I would post my two creations though. I'm especially proud of the cake because that pink frosting looks so real (just copic markers and stickles).

The second photo shows a cocoa pouch I made. I took a Christmas stamp and turned it into a Valentine's Day image. Go me!Anyway, I hope the next VSN finds me with nothing to do so I can participate in more than two challenges.

This is a Valentine card I made for SCS Sketch #109 challenge. I had to make it a square card, because I only had a small piece of the background paper, which came from an old gift bag. The heart was hand-drawn and cut out of chipboard. The stamp is from Darcie, and is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, though the red letters are colored with my beloved Copic markers.

I'll probably give this card to my Mom. Aww.
